Dark Chocolate Banana Bread

As we continue our collective shelter-in-place, we are spending more time than ever at home cooking and baking. Along the way, we've rediscovered the simple joy of baking a delicious banana bread. It is easy to make and enjoy.

The only way we could make it better? Add dark chocolate, of course.

Our banana bread is made with Parré Chocolat's 75% Dark Chocolate Drops. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle this bread is a great breakfast or anytime snack. It can be easily warmed and enjoyed with a cup of hot cocoa.

  

 

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup Parré Chocolat 75% Dark Chocolate Drops - coarsely chopped

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil or olive oil

  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup milk or Greek yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cup mashed ripe bananas about 3-4 medium bananas

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

 

 

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 325F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, beat eggs, oil, honey, milk and vanilla for 2 minutes. Stir in the bananas, flour mixture and Parré Chocolat Dark Chocolate Drops.

  4. Pour batter into greased pan. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  5. Cool for 10 minutes, slice and enjoy.
